1st Familiarization Programme for Resident Diplomats

The 1st Familiarization Programme for Resident Diplomats is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) from 18-22 January 2021. This is in continuation of Familiarization Programmes conducted earlier for resident Heads of Missions. Thirty-one (31) diplomats of all levels from resident Missions (Embassies/High Commissions) including from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America are participating in the programme.

The programme was inaugurated on 18 January 2021 by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (SSIFS). Senior officers from the MEA will be addressing diplomats on a wide variety of foreign policy issues during the week-long programme which is aimed at giving an introduction and perspective on India and its foreign policy including contemporary dimensions, challenges, strategic issues, relations with neighbouring countries and major powers, economic initiatives, development partnership and health diplomacy etc.
