Visit of H.E. Mr. Masud Bin Momen, Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh to SSIFS

H.E. Mr. Masud Bin Momen, Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh, during his official visit to India, paid a visit to the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Affairs (SSIFS) on 30 January 2021. He was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Muhammad Imran, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India and other delegation members. At SSIFS, the delegation was welcomed by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean SSIFS. The Bangladeshi dignitary addressed and interacted with the Indian Foreign Service Officer Trainees (IFS OTs) of the 2020 Batch & Bhutanese Diplomats.

Foreign Secretary was briefed by Dean SSIFS about the programmes and activities of SSIFSOne hundred and twenty four (124) Bangladeshi diplomats have attended courses at SSIFS, including  the flagship programme Professional Course for Foreign Diplomats (PCFD) and the annual Special Course for Bangladeshi Diplomats.

Relations between India and Bangladesh are anchored in history, culture, language and shared values of secularism, democracy, and countless other commonalities . It is based on sovereignty, equality, trust, understanding and a win-win partnership that goes far beyond a strategic partnership. In the last couple of years, the relationship has been further strengthened including through cooperation in new and high-technology areas. The year 2021 marks not only the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Bangladesh but also 50 years of friendship between the two countries.
