The 5th Familiarization Programme for Resident Diplomats is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), from 13-17 June 2022. The Programme was inaugurated on 13 June 2022 by Dean (SSIFS) Shri Arun K. Chatterjee.
2. In this edition of the Programme, thirty-five diplomats from resident Missions (Embassies/ High Commissions) from twenty-five countries spanning Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and Oceania are taking part.
3. The objective of the Familiarization Programme is to “introduce” India to the resident diplomats. A wide spectrum of speakers drawn from the academia, think-tanks, retired Ambassadors and senior serving officers from MEA and other Ministries, NITI Aayog, Election Commission of India, etc. will be addressing the diplomats on topics inter alia on India’s foreign policy priorities, Government of India’s Flagship Schemes, economic and trade initiatives, digitalization and development, conduct of elections in India, Indian culture and tourism prospects in India.
