1st Special Course for Diplomats from Madagascar and3rd Special Course for Diplomats from Gambia

The 1st Special Course for Diplomats from Madagascar and 3rd Special Course for Diplomats from Gambia is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi from 12 - 21 June 2024. Thirty-five young diplomats are participating in this course. 

The Special Course was inaugurated by Amb. Gaddam Dharmendra, Dean (SSIFS), in the presence of H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner of The Gambia to India & Mrs.Tahina Rasamoelina Cd’A (a.i.) of the Republic of Madagascar to India.

The special course is in line with the warm and friendly relations that India shares with both The Gambia and the Republic of Madagascar. These have been reflected through high level visits, bilateral cooperation, capacity building programmes and Diaspora linkages. The programme consists of sessions on Indian Polity, New Trends in Diplomacy, Global Economic Landscape, India’s e-Governance Platforms, National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity, Blue Economy, Food Safety and Disaster & Humanitarian Relief.  Sessions on Ayurveda, Yoga, Sustainable Tourism, and Cultural Diversity in India are also included. The diplomats will visit Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, International Solar Alliance and some places of cultural heritage as part of their field visits.  A day-long study visit to Agra is also planned.
