Special Course for Partner Countries

The courses and programmes conducted by the SSIFS for foreign diplomats are designed to serve as an introduction to the principles and practices of diplomacy, current and emerging issues in international relations, as well as the salient features of India's history and culture as they impinge upon India’s foreign policy. Since 2017, all country/region-specific Special Training Programmes are of two weeks’ duration with the course content broadly following a standard template emphasizing practical, hands-on sessions with local and outstation tours. Modules on diplomatic communication, protocol, consular matters, health and cultural diplomacy are included.  A practical session on Yoga is conducted for the foreign diplomats. The thrust is on diplomacy in action and the Indian perspective.
