1st Special Course for Diplomats from Angola

The 1st Special Course for diplomats from Angola is being held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India on 6-18 May 2019. 06 young diplomats from Angola are participating.

The Special Course was inaugurated at FSI on 6 May 2019. On 5 May, Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) hosted a welcome reception for the diplomats from Angola.

The Special Course would include modules on India’s foreign policy, key international issues, multilateral diplomacy and diplomatic skills. The Angolan diplomats would also get an exposure to India’s economic and technological development and undertake study tours to experience the rich cultural heritage of India.

India and Angola have traditionally enjoyed friendly relations dating back to pre-independence era of Angola. India supported Angolan freedom struggle against the Portuguese colonial rule till the country attained independence in 1975. Angola and its leadership appreciate India’s consistent support in the past and hope to derive benefits from the significant advances India has made in recent times in agriculture, industry and technology.
