Visit of Mrs. Vera Jerabkova, Director, Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic to FSI

Mrs. Vera Jerabkova, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic visited the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), Ministry of External Affairs on 01 August 2019.  She was accompanied by H. E. Mr. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of Czech Republic to India.

Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) welcomed Mrs. Vera Jerabkova and H. E. Mr. Milan Hovorka and briefed them about FSI and its training programmes. He mentioned that over 3000 diplomats from over 180 countries have participated in FSI’s training programmes. So far, 07 diplomats from Czech Republic have participated in Courses for foreign diplomats conducted by FSI - 6 in Professional Course for Foreign Diplomats (PCFD) and 1 in Special Course for ASEM Diplomats.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between FSI and Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic on 19 November 2007. Amb. Mukul and Mrs. Jerabkova discussed steps to strengthen cooperation between the two sides within the framework of the MoU.

Amb. Mukul hosted a lunch in honour of Mrs.Jerabkova .

Relations between India and Czech Republic are deep rooted and date back to 9th century A.D if not earlier. Diplomatic relations between India and erstwhile Czechoslovakia were established on November 18, 1947. President of India, Hon’ble Shri Ram Nath Kovind visited Czech Republic in September 2018. Prime Minister of Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Andrej Babis visited India in January 2019.
