3rd Familiarisation Programme for Resident Heads of Mission

The 3rd Familiarisation Programme for Resident Heads of Mission (HoMs) is being held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India from 19 to 23 August 2019. Resident HoMs of Arab, Caucasian, Central Asian and North African countries are participating. There are 30 Missions of these countries in Delhi.

The Familiarisation Programme was inaugurated at FSI by Amb. T.S. Tirumurti, Secretary (Economic Relations) in MEA on 19 August 2019. A welcome lunch was hosted by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) for the participants. Senior officers from MEA and Government of India would address the Resident HoMs. Amb. A. Gitesh Sarma, Secretary (West) will be present for the Valedictory Function and presentation of certificates.

The Programme will include interactive modules on India’s foreign policy, trade policy, development partnership and key international issues. The Resident HoMs will also get an exposure to India’s economic and technological advancements.

By way of information, the 1st Familiarisation Programme for Resident HoMs from Latin and Caribbean countries was held on 20-24 August 2018, and the 2nd Familiarisation Programme for Resident HoMs from East, South, Central and West Africa was held on 18-22 February 2019.
