68th Professional Course for Foreign Diplomats

The 68th Professional Course for Foreign Diplomats (PCFD) is being held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), Ministry of External Affairs of India from 16 September 2019 to 11 October 2019. 54 young diplomats from 53 countries are participating in this programme.

PCFD, which started in 1992, is the flagship programme of FSI for training of foreign diplomats. It is held twice a year. One of the core principles of India’s Foreign Policy has been to work towards building a peaceful, secure and stable world, particularly through forging mutually beneficial relationships with developing countries. PCFD affirms the commitment of India to its friendly countries in sharing the knowledge and expertise acquired in the field of diplomats’ training.

The 68th PCFD was inaugurated at FSI on 16 September 2019.  Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) also hosted a welcome reception for the participating diplomats.

The PCFD would include the training modules on various topics including India’s foreign policy, key international issues, multilateral diplomacy and diplomatic skills. The participants would get an exposure to modern India’s economic and technological developments. They would also undertake study tours both within and outside Delhi to experience the rich cultural heritage of India.
