The 2nd Special Course for diplomats from Palestine was held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India on 02 September -14 September 2019. 15 diplomats from Palestine participated in the Course. The Special Course was inaugurated at FSI on 03 September 2019. Amb. JS Mukul, Dean (FSI) hosted a welcome reception for the diplomats.
Amb. T.S. Tirumurti, Secretary (ER), Ministry of External Affairs of India and other senior officers of the Ministry addressed the diplomats from Palestine as part of the training programme. The Special Course covered modules on India’s foreign policy, key international issues, multilateral diplomacy and diplomatic skills. The diplomats from Palestine got an exposure to India’s economic and technological development and undertook study tours to experience the rich cultural heritage of India.
To date, 34 diplomats from Palestine have participated in FSI training programmes for foreign diplomats.
Apart from the strong political support to the Palestinian cause at bilateral and international levels, India has extended various forms of economic assistance to the Palestinian people. This Special Course will further strengthen India’s friendly ties with Palestine.
