5th Special Course for Diplomats from ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting)

The 5th Special Course for Diplomats from ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) Partner Countries is being held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), Ministry of External Affairs of India from 14 October 2019 to 21 October 2019. 20 young diplomats from 20 countries (Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and United Kingdom) are participating in this Course.

Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) hosted a welcome reception for the participating diplomats on 13 October 2019.

The intensive one-week course would include the training modules on various topics including India’s foreign policy, key international issues, multilateral diplomacy and diplomatic skills. The participants would get an exposure to modern India’s economic and technological developments. They would also undertake study tours to experience the rich cultural heritage of India.

The 1st Special Course for ASEM Diplomats was held in 2015. The 5th Special Course is another step in strengthening of India-ASEM relations.
