3rd Special Course for Diplomats from Maldives

The 3rd Special Course for diplomats from Maldives is being held at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India from 28 October – 09 November 2019. 6 Diplomats from Maldives are participating in the Course.

Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) hosted a welcome reception for the participating diplomats on 28th October 2019.The intensive two-week course would include  training modules on various topics covering India’s foreign policy, key international issues, multilateral diplomacy and diplomatic skills. The participants would get an exposure to modern India’s economic and technological developments. They would also undertake study tours to experience the rich cultural heritage of India.

To date, 57 diplomats from Maldives have participated in FSI training programmes for foreign diplomats.

India and Maldives have strong and friendly relations, nurtured by geographical contiguity, ethnic, historical, socio-economic and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries. FSI signed an MoU with Maldives on 11th October 2015. The 2nd special course will further strengthen India-Maldives relations.
