Visit of Amb. Macharia Kamau, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya

Amb. Macharia Kamau, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya visited the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), Ministry of External Affairs on 03 December 2019. He was accompanied by a six member delegation from Kenya.

Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (FSI) welcomed the Kenyan delegation led by Amb. Macharia Kamau and briefed them about FSI and its training programmes. He mentioned that over 3300 diplomats from nearly 185 countries have participated in FSI’s training programmes. So far, 31 diplomats from Kenya have participated in Courses for foreign diplomats conducted by FSI, including 10 who are currently participating in the 1st Special Course for Kenyan Diplomats from 25 November – 7 December 2019.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between FSI and Foreign Service Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya after conclusion of meeting between Amb. J.S. Mukul and Amb. Macharia Kamau.

India  and  Kenya  are  maritime  neighbours with robust  and  multi-faceted  partnership,  marked  by regular high-level visits, increasing trade and investment and extensive people to people contacts. The visit of Amb. Macharia Kamau to FSI is another step in strengthening of relations between India and Kenya.
