1st Special Course for Diplomats & Officers from Sri Lanka
The 1st Special Course for Diplomats & Officers from Sri Lanka is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, from 05-13 August 2024 with 23 participants.
The course was inaugurated on 05 August 2024 by Amb. Sanjiv Ranjan, Dean (SSIFS) in the presence of H.E. Mrs. Kshenuka Senewiratne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India.
The Special Course is in line with long-standing close bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka which span over more than 2500 years of shared historical, cultural, religious, spiritual and linguistic ties. These have been reflected through high level and Ministerial interactions and close cooperation in all areas including education, culture, development, trade and investment. The Special Course includes modules on issues of global political and economic relevance, SDGs and Climate Change, Maritime Security, Public Health Policy, Digital Public Infrastructure, New & Emerging Technologies, Disaster & Humanitarian Relief, Food Security etc.
The participants will visit the Bharat Mandapam, Rashtrapati Bhawan, PM Sanghralaya, Election Commission of India and places of cultural heritage, practice Yoga and learn about Ayurveda. A day long visit to Agra is also being planned.
