3rd Special Course for Diplomats from Central Asia

The 3rd Special Course for Diplomats from Central Asia (SCDCA) is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi from 14-25 October 2024. Twenty Eight diplomats representing Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are participating in the two-week programme. Dean (SSIFS), Amb Raj Kumar Srivastava inaugurated the 3rd SCDCA and spoke about India’s Foreign Policy guiding principles in his inaugural address.
India shares historical and civilization linkages with the five Central Asian Republics. These have been strengthened through high level visits, regular exchanges and expanding development cooperation. The special course encompasses modules covering areas of mutual significance such as:
- India’s Relations with Central Asia including cultural & historical links
- Global political and economic landscapes
- Reform of Multilateral Institutions
- Defence & Security Partnership and Civil Use of Nuclear Energy
- Sustainable development partnerships between India & the Global South
- Climate Change and Sustainable Practices in water management, renewable energy, Tourism, Food and Agriculture
- Digital Public Infrastructure & Responsible AI for All
- Yoga & Ayurveda
As part of their field-visits, the diplomats will be visiting:
- Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI),
- Maruti-Suzuki Automobile Plant, Manesar,
- Election Commission of India (ECI),
- Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy
- Two days field visit to the prominent places of cultural heritage, historic monuments and BMVSS Jaipur Foot in the city of Jaipur
