2nd Special Course CED- Valeditory

The 2nd Special Course for Diplomats from Suriname on Commercial and Economic Diplomacy was held virtually from the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of  External Affairs, New Delhi from 07- 18 December 2020. 20 Surinamese Diplomats participated in this course from Paramaribo. The valedictory session on 18 December 2020, the valedictory address was delivered by Amb. Luziano Edwin Truideman, Permanent Secretary, Administrative and Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Suriname.

 The modules of this Special Course covered the entire gamut of commercial and economic diplomac.In addition, there were sessions on India’s Foreign Policy and India’s relations with Suriname.

India has traditionally enjoyed warm, friendly and cordial relations with  Suriname reinforced  by  cultural  and  people-to-people  contacts  bridged  by  the Indian  Diaspora's  arrival 146 years ago. Bilateral relations have been further strengthened during the last few years with the exchange of regular high-level visits. With the successful completion of this course, a total of 60 Suriname diplomats have to-date trained at SSIFS.
